Dr. Rochelle Mota

Laredo born and raised, Dr. Mota always knew she wanted to serve her community. She had a passion for healthcare, but also for business ownership, art, and fashion. So she found Optometry, the perfect blend of all the things she loved. She dreamed of a space that didn't look or feel like other doctor's offices. She wanted to change the traditional feel of an eye exam to become an enjoyable and relaxed experience. That’s when Punto Focal was created.

Dr. Mota attended J.B. Alexander High School Science Magnet, received her Bachelor’s in Vision Science at The University of the Incarnate Word, and then went on to get her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. She moved back to Laredo to serve her community. She worked with a local ophthalmologist from 2020-2023 with a focus on diabetic eye care, glaucoma management, and dry eye treatments.

Dr. Mota loves traveling, cooking, and creating. She co-owns Dosis Coffee with her husband. She has 3 dogs named Harley, Salma, and Corndog. Her daughter, Sol, was born in 2024. She was named after Dr. Mota’s love for sunny days and her happy outlook on life.
